We all know the importance of keeping up with the latest trends. Being in the know about what’s happening and what’s coming next is what keeps us always pursuing the best services. Being a trend spotter will give you access to ideas and actions before anyone else. It’s always beneficial to be in front of the pack and there are some trends to keep in mind as the end of the year nears.

  • Advanced and direct ads

Changes in the ad space occur so frequently that it’s a requirement to keep up. Now more than ever before, advertising has the ability to be incredibly focused and personalized on multiple platforms.

Facebook has recently introduced its personalized ad experience. This gives advertisers the ability to automatically customize the ad to each person who sees it. Different formats and text variations are personalized to increase the individual’s likelihood to interact with the ad.

Instagram shopping has become a personal shopping experience. Taking platform activity and customizing products for viewers most likely to shop. Instagram eliminates many steps, allowing for a seamless purchase. Essentially you see an item, tap the picture and you can be taken directly to the product. No more guesswork or extensive searching for products online.

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network has made changes to cater to B2B marketing. Advertising options include sponsored content, InMail, and text ads, providing options for everyone. Whether you want to appear on someone’s feed, or directly in their inbox, reaching professionals has never been easier.

  • Ephemeral Content

You may have never heard of this but you’ve most definitely seen it. Ephemeral content speaks directly to our short attention spans. Typically seen as an Instagram or Facebook story, but can also include live streams, and product demo. It’s available to view for only a short amount of time, usually 24 hours. Followers are aware of this and it feeds into the desire to be constantly in the know. Posting stories regularly is a great way to keep your audience connected and entertained. This is a trend that won’t be going anywhere soon, so take advantage of it.

  • Video Content

We’ve seen the rise in video content over the years, but it has become increasingly more important during 2020. Instagram rolled out its “reels” feature, allowing creators yet another avenue to share content, essentially quick videos that are easy to share and effective for many audiences. Tiktok took the internet by storm early this year, with quick and entertaining videos about nearly any topic you can imagine. YouTube continues to grow, becoming a huge avenue for content, information, and entertainment. Video provides an added layer of personalization. It often puts a face with words and provides viewers a connection they would likely not attain otherwise.

Being aware of industry trends isn’t a suggestion, it’s a necessity. No one wants to be the last to the party, so take these trends and start generating your new content. With continued growth in each of these trends likely, there’s no better way to close out the year than integrating these blooming possibilities.
